Bodie made the difficult look easy by picking apart the defense with an impressive display of ball handling, passing and shooting. The comfortable win came right on time for #4 ranked Butler (class 2A), which dropped its first two games of the season against #9 Jones County (5A) and Grovetown (5-1).

Greenbrier had a chance to tie or take the lead on the last play, but senior Hampton Goff’s jump shot from the free throw line barely rimmed out.
It was the second time this season that Gonzalez essentially carried the Panthers (2-2) to a victory. He scored 38 points, including the game winning shot, in Lakeside’s 62-61 overtime win over Harlem on November 17.
Greenbrier (2-3) was paced by Andrew Black (13 points) and Davin Driskell (8 points and 9 rebounds).

Westside 70, Jones County 56
#2 Westside (2A) pleased the home crowd by running away from #9 Jones County (5A) in the first day’s most highly anticipated game. The Patriots denied Jones County head coach Buck Harris, a graduate of Westside and former Augusta University assistant coach, a holiday homecoming victory.
6’5” junior Khalon Hudson scored 28 points and snatched 15 rebounds for the Patriots (3-0) in one of the most impressive individual performances by an area player so far this season. Fellow junior Jalexs Ewing contributed 16 points, 4 rebounds and 4 assists. Hudson and Ewing put on a dunkfest of sorts in the second half that turned up the electricity in Christenberry Fieldhouse.
Chaydon Stone (16 points, 4 assists and 3 rebounds) and Matt Wold (16 points and 4 rebounds) led Jones County (3-2) in defeat.

Junior Makale Harley added 15, and 6’6” freshman Kylan Hill contributed 10, including 3 putbacks in the fourth quarter that helped the Wildcats overcome a late game deficit.
Four players scored in double figures for Harlem: Lemar Edmond (17), Johnathan Howard (16), Josh Davis (11) and William Biddy (10).
